The color of the wood is mostly more light brown but can vary to almost yellowish and can still contain darker strains. Sapwood can be very wide but still has excellent strength compared to other sapwoods within hardwood family. It has a subtle figure and a distinct grain pattern.
Ash is strong and highly shock resistant. This combined with a straight grain made it widely used for all kind of items. For example baseball bats, brooms, wooden handles and bended pieces.
Ash allows a nice finishing and doesn’t tend to heavily bend or twitch if properly prepared. Ash wood isn’t recommended for outdoor furniture. Ash can be very basic in look but can also shos very nice figuring in the wood pattern. Depending on what is prefered the correct piece must be choosen to work with.
